Why Choose the Amalfi Coast for Your Wedding
The Amalfi Coast is one of Italy’s most requested destination wedding locations, known for its cliffside terraces, pastel-colored towns, and direct views over the Mediterranean. Couples choose it for the dramatic backdrop it offers in every direction; sea, cliffs, and lemon groves within the same frame; and for the concentration of small luxury venues within a short drive of each other. Late spring and early autumn offer the most reliable weather; July and August are peak season, with narrow coastal roads adding real travel time between towns.
Where I Shoot on the Amalfi Coast
Positano — Cliffside houses stacked above the sea, offering dramatic elevated views for ceremonies and portraits. Access for larger groups can be limited by the town’s steep, narrow streets — something I factor into timing and logistics.
Ravello — Set higher on the coast, known for its historic villas and gardens, with sweeping views over the Gulf of Salerno. Quieter and less crowded than Positano, especially outside peak summer.
Amalfi — The coast’s namesake town, with its cathedral square and harbor, works well for couples wanting a mix of historic architecture and direct sea access.
Venues I’ve photographed or work with regularly:
Belmond Hotel Caruso — A former 11th-century palazzo in Ravello, with a cliffside infinity pool and terraced gardens overlooking the Gulf of Salerno. One of the coast’s most requested luxury venues.
Villa Cimbrone — A historic villa in Ravello with elaborate gardens and the Terrace of Infinity, a well-known panoramic viewpoint over the coastline.
Villa Eva — A private villa near Ravello offering a more intimate, garden-set alternative to the coast’s larger hotel venues.
Relais Blu — A boutique clifftop hotel with panoramic terraces over the coastline, suited to intimate celebrations of 40-80 guests.
Beyond these, I also shoot at smaller relais and private villas along the coast for couples planning an intimate elopement rather than a full-scale celebration.
How I Work
Most couples I photograph on the Amalfi Coast are planning a destination wedding from abroad, often without having seen the venue in person before the day itself. My role goes beyond photography — I advise on timing (light on this coast changes fast, and afternoon haze is common in summer), realistic shot-list expectations given the terrain, and logistics around narrow roads and limited vehicle access in towns like Positano.
Coverage typically includes full-day documentary photography, with the option to add a second shooter, film alongside digital, or a cinematic wedding film produced by my collaborators.

Most couples I work with here are planning from abroad — I coordinate directly on timing, logistics, and vendor recommendations specific to the coast’s terrain and road access.
