An Intimate British-Inspired Wedding at the Lazy Olive in Tuscany

 As a wedding photographer based in Tuscany, I have had the pleasure of capturing many beautiful weddings in this picturesque region known for its rolling hills, historic villages, and renowned wines. Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph the intimate and charming countryside wedding of Katie and Matt, a British couple who chose the Lazy Olive, a farm nestled in the heart of the Crete Senesi, as their wedding venue. They invited less than 40 guests to celebrate their special day and made it a day to remember. I was engaged from the day before the wedding to photograph the Pizza party and Pre-Wedding photoshoot.

The Lazy Olive is a secluded and intimate venue that provides a rustic, yet elegant setting for a country-style wedding. Surrounded by wheat fields and vineyards, the farm offers stunning views of the iconic Crete Senesi hills. I was lucky to have several outdoor areas that I could use for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Katie and Matt chose to exchange their vows in a natural terrace overlooking the hills, which was decorated with simple yet elegant floral arrangements. All the floral decoration, bouquet and similar are provided directly from Daniela, the owner of the Lazy Olive who has a km zero policy, meaning that all the flowers used in the decoration are grown and harvested on-site. The terrace was a perfect location for the ceremony as it provides a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape. The bride arrived at the ceremony location walking alone through the beautiful gardens of the lazy olive.

Katie and Matt wanted their wedding to have a inspired countryside theme. They chose a color palette of green, white, and brown, which created a timeless and sophisticated look.

As the photographer, I am proud to have captured the unforgettable moments of Katie and Matt’s special day and the day before, starting from the Pizza party to the Pre-Wedding photoshoot.
The picturesque setting of the Lazy Olive provided me with plenty of opportunities to take stunning photographs of the couple and their guests.
The natural light, the lush green surroundings, and the beautiful floral arrangements made for an ideal backdrop.
